Nearly a decade ago Sutton Juniors FC started its journey in its pursuit of a sustainable , long term home for the club. I am delighted to confirm, on behalf of the committee, it’s volunteers and all its members that today we signed a 25 year lease and joined into a long term relationship with Malsis Hall. The club would like to thank all of you, it’s sponsors, friends and family for the support you’ve shown throughout this rather long process and a special thank you to those that have given countless hours volunteering to bring grassroots football to the local area. Thank you to all the committee members and volunteers over the years who have given their time to continuing or vision and special mention to Chris Hall who gave so much time in the clubs early days. A special thank you to Seddon Ltd and to Craven District Council and specifically Bruce Dinsmore, who helped make all of this possible.
Like all of you, the club is looking forward to the return of grassroots football. We will continue to work behind the scenes as government advice is dispensed and prepare for the new season in whatever form that maybe. As we establish ourselves in our new home, we have many things to work out – logistics, planning, processes, health and safety – the list is long and we will aim to work through all the detail and answer all your questions over the next few months. In the shortest of term we ask that members do not drop by the site – simply whilst we add appropriate signage and prepare the appropriate logistical processes and documentation. If you’d like to help in any form and would like to help in establishing ourselves, please do reach out - it’s a wonderful opportunity to embed something sustainable into the community for the long term.
Dan – on behalf of all SJFC.
